My First Bead Soup Blog Party!!

Well the big reveal is finally here!  I've had some anxious moments making this piece.  I've had a very hectic couple of weeks at work and 14 charms to make for ArtBliss (I'm still not done :( and I'm struggling, since the order I placed to finish making my charms still hasn't arrived)  But enough about me....

First a couple more before pictures of the Focal and Clasp.

And my finished piece with the focal and clasp I received from Erin of Erin's Jewelry Creations.

I soldered the pendant and added a little bee.

To help balance out the pendant from the weight of the bee, I added a jump ring and some dangles on the other side of the pendant.
I wish my pictures were better.  I ended up having to work until 8pm tonight, so I missed daylight when photographing this piece.

I really wanted more of an asymmetrical look.  I also wanted to put a darker patina on the piece, but I have just had so much going on and I was running out of time.  So I am not completely happy with it.  I may try to add a patina later.  I also WISH that I had soldered rhinestones onto the bee BEFORE I attached it to the pendant.  My original plan was to solder rhinestone chain onto the wings (Riki's tutorial here is AWESOME!  http://www.etsy.com/listing/81242609/how-to-solder-rhinestone-chain)

I can't WAIT to see what everyone else has done with their "soup"!!
We'd love for you to Crash our party and join our Bead Soup Blog Hop and see all the other Bead soup creations.  Clicking on the link below will take you to our Host Lori Andersons list of participants

Oh Jules, you NAILED it, I love your piece so much. Definitely one of my favs! And thank you so much for the plug on my video! I am so glad it helped you learn to solder the rhinestone chain. Love your necklace so much, heck, just cement the rhinestones on if you still want them!! Hee hee. Hugs, and great job. Riki xo

What a lovely necklace! I love how all of the bits and bobs are kind of hanging here and there, looking unintentional, and yet such points of interest that I know had a lot of thought of placement behind them.

That's cool how you put the pendant into a bezel and thanks for the link to Riki's rhinestone tutorial! Great work!

I hope you'll join me again! The new badge and dates will be on my blog tomorrow, Sept 19!

That really an amazing transformation of the pendant! Simply amazing. There's no way I would have come up with something so outside the box. Fantastic work!

As I posted on another blog, I don't do anything with metal, so I was blown away with the bezel on the focal! What a great idea. And very impressive with all those links, especially in such a time crunch. Hope everything goes well with your ArtBliss order. Blessings!

This is really cute - if you really want to patina it (which will look great I think) you can always do that - I'd be interested to see it again!
